AED Display invests in Barco’s C5 indoor LED displays – the new standard in the rental market

Kortrijk, 5-12-2012 — /europawire.eu/ — Barco LiveDots, a Barco company, has recently delivered 650 units of its new C5 LED tiles to audiovisual expert AED Display. “We love its low weight, silent running, low power consumption and support levels. The C5 truly sets a new standard in the rental market,” said AED Display’s CEO Thierry Heldenbergh.

AED Display, which is part of the larger AED group, is a long-term customer of Barco that delivers both rental and installation services. Its broad rental pool comprises Barco’s full product range of Projection, Image Processing and LED screens. Just before this summer, AED Display purchased a series of compact HDX-W18, bright HDF-W26 and top-of-range HDQ-2K40 projectors. Now it has also expanded its range of advanced video and lighting solutions with the new C5 indoor LED displays.

Lightweight and low power consumption

The C5 LED display is a member of Barco’s successful C-series. Combined with Barco’s renowned DX based image processing, the products offer outstanding image quality and ease of use. Their minimal need for maintenance and limited thickness also make them ideal for fixed installations.

“C5 is great value for money. The price can really compete against similar products with much lower quality and support levels,” said Thierry Heldenbergh, AED Display’s CEO. “We notice that more and more AV rental companies are including the C5 in their portfolio, which makes it a very interesting product for cross-rental. This investment in C5 tiles is just the beginning. If we see a large buy-in from the market, we might quickly purchase more of them.”

First showcases

AED Display already showcased the C5 newcomer during a series of events in the past few months. Its stack of 650 C5 tiles were all rented out during the IAA Hannover and Paris Motor Show. Another unique opportunity to unveil the C5 display was Plasa London, the UK’s premier show for AV technologies, where AED Rent sponsored the PLASA Awards for Innovation.

The new standard for indoor LED

Barco LiveDots is glad that rental and staging companies have so quickly discovered the benefits of its C-series of LED displays, the C5 in particular. “The exceptional number of customers who chose to use C5 tiles at the Paris Motor Show, for example, proves that the product is quickly becoming the standard for indoor LED displays in the rental business,” said Joost De Frene, Product Manager, Barco LiveDots.

The new C5 screen will be showcased during the upcoming AED Customer Nights in Belgium, on 12 and 13 December (www.aedrent.com/i/CNBE-19).
