Adyen and Guidewire Partner to Reduce Payment Fragmentation Across Global Insurance Operations

Adyen and Guidewire Partner to Reduce Payment Fragmentation Across Global Insurance Operations

(IN BRIEF) Adyen has been approved as a Global Payment Partner for Guidewire and will launch a standardized integration through the Guidewire Marketplace in 2027, giving property and casualty insurers access to Adyen’s end-to-end payments infrastructure from their Guidewire core systems. The solution will support premium collections through cards, ACH and local payment methods, recurring billing retries, claims payouts through bank transfers and virtual cards, and centralized financial routing, clearing and settlement. Adyen said its own banking licenses and integrated financial infrastructure allow it to manage the complete transaction lifecycle without relying on fragmented regional networks and multiple banking intermediaries. The integration will also provide unified reporting, automated reconciliation, machine-learning-based fraud protection and tokenization for card data. Guidewire serves more than 570 insurers across 43 countries, and the Adyen integration is planned for global availability across North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific. The standardized marketplace implementation can be deployed by Global Systems Integrators or insurers’ internal IT teams.

(PRESS RELEASE) AMSTERDAM, 15-Sep-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Adyen has been approved as a Global Payment Partner for Guidewire, with a new integration set to launch through the Guidewire Marketplace and give property and casualty insurers access to Adyen’s end-to-end payments infrastructure directly from their Guidewire core systems.

The integration is designed to simplify how insurers manage payments throughout the policy lifecycle by replacing fragmented regional arrangements with a single global platform covering payment acceptance, recurring collections, claims payouts, financial routing, clearing and settlement.

Adyen said the launch builds on its growing presence in the insurance sector and will enable Guidewire customers to manage both customer-facing payment experiences and back-office money movement through one standardized integration.

For insurers, the solution will support automated premium collection through payment methods including cards, ACH and locally preferred options, while also managing recurring billing retries and claims payouts through mechanisms such as bank transfers and virtual cards.

By integrating these capabilities with Guidewire, insurers will be able to consolidate processes that might otherwise require multiple payment providers, banking partners or regional infrastructure arrangements.

Adyen differentiates its approach through a financial technology platform supported by its own banking licenses. Rather than operating solely as a software layer connected to external banking providers, the company manages the transaction lifecycle from front-end acceptance through clearing and settlement.

Adyen said this architecture can improve payout speed, reduce transaction failures and provide greater resilience by reducing reliance on fragmented networks and third-party intermediaries.

Adrian Davis, Managing Director Financial Services & Insurance at Adyen, said the Guidewire Marketplace integration builds on the company’s expansion within the insurance industry.

He said Adyen’s ownership of the underlying financial infrastructure allows the company to manage money movement end to end while helping insurers provide the payment methods preferred by their policyholders.

According to Davis, integrating payments directly into core insurance workflows can help transform payment infrastructure from a legacy operational constraint into a tool for customer experience and business growth.

The integration will also provide insurers with centralized transaction information and automated reconciliation capabilities, helping finance and operations teams streamline back-office processes.

Adyen’s machine-learning risk engine will provide fraud detection and mitigation capabilities across insurance payment activity, while advanced tokenization will help protect stored card information and support ongoing security and compliance requirements.

The integrated offering will be available across Guidewire’s customer base of more than 570 insurers in 43 countries, providing a standardized payment option for insurance companies using Guidewire technology.

Among the principal capabilities are end-to-end payment processing without multiple banking intermediaries, unified reporting, centralized reconciliation, fraud protection and tokenized data security.

The integration is expected to be available globally following its 2027 launch, supporting insurers across North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.

Because the solution is being standardized for the Guidewire Marketplace, implementation can be undertaken by a Global Systems Integrator (GSI) or by an insurer’s own internal technology team, giving customers flexibility in how they deploy the integration.

The partnership is intended to support insurance companies seeking to modernize payment infrastructure while reducing regional fragmentation and simplifying integration with their policy administration and core insurance technology environments.

By combining Guidewire’s insurance software ecosystem with Adyen’s payments and banking infrastructure, the companies aim to give insurers a more integrated way to manage premium collections, claims disbursements, recurring transactions, reconciliation and payment security across multiple markets.
