Adam Sawicki appointed President of Management Board and CEO at Netia SA

WARSAW, Poland, 24-4-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — Netia SA (“Netia” or the “Company”) (WSE: NET), Poland’s largest alternative provider of fixed-line telecommunications services announced that on April 22, 2014 its Supervisory Board appointed Mr. Adam Sawicki as President of the Company’s Management Board and Chief Executive Officer, effective June 2, 2014.

Mr. Adam Sawicki, 43, has many years of general management experience in an international environment and including the telecommunications industry. In particular, he served as Chief Executive Officer of GTS Central Europe (from 2008 to 2011) and worked in various senior management positions in TeliaSonera Group (from 1996 to 2008).

From 2012 to 2013 Mr. Sawicki served as Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs, in KGHM Polska Miedz S.A. From 2011 to 2012 he worked in RUCH Group, firstly as Advisor to the Management Board responsible for preparation of a long-term e-commerce digital content strategy for a major Polish press distribution retail chain and later as Chief Executive Officer of RUCH Internet S.A., a company developing and operating all e-commerce and on-line business of RUCH Group.

Between 2008 and 2011 Mr. Sawicki was Chief Executive Officer in GTS Central Europe Group, conducting a transformation and restructuring program aimed at creating one regional telecommunication operator from 5 independently operating entities in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania.

From 1996 until 2008 he worked for international telecommunications group TeliaSonera, where he served as, among others, Managing Director of TeliaSonera International Carrier UK (from 2007 to 2008), Vice President, Head of West Europe & North America of TeliaSonera Wholesale (from 2007 to 2008), General Director of TeliaSonera International Carrier Russia (from 2006 to 2007), Vice President, Head of Russia and Central & Eastern Europe (from 2006 to 2007), Vice President, Head of Southern & Eastern Europe (from 2004 to 2005) and Deputy Head of Global Sales (from 2003 to 2004 ) of TeliaSonera International Carrier AB and President of the Management Board in TeliaSonera International Carrier Poland Sp. z o.o. (from 1999 to 2007).

Prior to agreeing to join Netia Mr. Sawicki has been pursuing independent advisory projects.

Mr. Sawicki graduated in Business Administration and Economics from the Stockholm University, Sweden. He also completed the General Manager Program from Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

Mr. Sawicki does not conduct directly or through legal entities any activities that would compete with the activities of Netia or its subsidiaries. He is not a partner in civil law company or any partnership, nor a member of any authorities of any corporation or any other legal entity that competes with the activities of Netia. He has not been registered in the Non-Solvent Debtors Register kept pursuant to the National Court Register Act.
