Accenture chief executive for United States Jorge Benitez to retire on June 1

NEW YORK, 8-5-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — Accenture (NYSE: ACN) announced today that Jorge Benitez will step down on June 1 as chief executive – United States and senior managing director – North America and retire from the company on Aug. 31, 2014.

“Jorge has made a tremendous contribution to Accenture’s growth and success during his 33-year career with our company,” said Chairman and CEO Pierre Nanterme. “Most recently, leading our business and operations in North America, he has helped drive significant revenue growth in the United States – our largest market, where we have steadily gained market share in the last three years. Before assuming his current role in 2011, Mr. Benitez served for five years as chief operating officer of Accenture’s Products operating group, with responsibility for executing the group’s business strategy and ensuring operational excellence across a wide range of consumer-relevant industries. He also played a critical role at the time of the company’s IPO in helping Accenture transition smoothly from a partnership to a public company.

Mr. Benitez’s success in business and contributions in the broader community, especially in the areas of education and diversity, have been recognized nationally. In 2013, he was named among the 100 CEO Leaders in STEM, and he was recognized with a CEO Leadership in Action Award. Hispanic Magazine also named him to its “Top 25 Corporate Elite” in 2011.

Until his retirement from Accenture, Mr. Benitez will continue to be involved in key client relationships and represent Accenture in a number of business forums.
