ABP: Port of Ipswich installs new, state-of-the-art CCTV cameras to enhance security

LONDON, 15-Jun-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — The Port of Ipswich has invested £33,000 in the installation of a new, state-of-the-art CCTV cameras to enhance security. The system upgrades, which began in February this year, have been completed and cover the Ipswich Haven Marina.

Following its most recent expansion, the marina currently boasts 320 berths and attracts more than 2000 visiting yachts annually. The Installation of a modern CCTV system will ensure the safety of all visitors and will help prevent vandalism.

Linda Pipe, Ipswich Haven Marina Manager, said: “Ensuring that our customers, staff and the public have a pleasant and enjoyable stay is important for us and I believe that investing in modern security equipment at the port helps achieve this by creating a safe environment.

“We want our visitors and the public to feel like they have nothing to fear, when they berth their boats at the marina or when they are taking a walk around the marina. Especially at night, when the whole area comes to life with the buzz of summer nightlife, due to its proximity to a many local restaurants and cultural spots, we aim to keep everyone safe.”

Paul Ager, ABP Divisional Port Manager – East Coast, said: “Since it was opened in May 2000, the Ipswich Haven Marina has become a star attraction on the east coast.

“We are fortunate as the excellent location of our marina, situated at the head of the River Orwell, amidst the historic and regenerated Ipswich Waterfront, helps attract many visitors.”
