Sweden: Minister for Upper Secondary School and Adult Education and Training Anna Ekström visits Latvia and Lithuania

STOCKHOLM, 16-Jan-2018 — /EuropaWire/ — Vocational education and training, ministerial meetings and panel discussions on women’s leadership – these are some of the programme points when Minister for Upper Secondary School and Adult Education and Training Anna Ekström visits Latvia and Lithuania on 15–17 January.

In Vilnius, Ms Ekström will meet Jurgita Petrauskienė, Minister of Education and Science, and make study visits to various vocational education and training courses, attend the launch of an essay competition and participate in a panel discussion on women’s leadership.

In Riga, Ms Ekström will meet Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Economics Arvils Ašeradens, and Minister of Education and Science Kārlis Šadurskis. There will also be visits to various vocational education and training courses, including to the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga.

The purpose of the visit is to exchange experiences, particularly on issues relating to vocational education and training, and strengthen relations with Latvia and Lithuania.
