(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 19-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Eviden, the Atos Group product brand specializing in cybersecurity, mission-critical systems and vision AI, has entered into a strategic partnership with Italian digital innovation group Almaviva to support the nationwide rollout of Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) in Italy and enable cross-border interoperability across Europe’s mobility network.

The collaboration is designed to advance the objectives of C-Roads Italy, a national initiative focused on implementing C-ITS technologies in live traffic environments. These systems allow vehicles to communicate directly with road infrastructure and other users through vehicle-to-everything (V2X) connectivity, improving road safety, easing congestion, and contributing to cleaner and more efficient transportation. C-Roads Italy forms part of the broader EU-funded C-Roads program, which coordinates connected mobility deployments across more than 20 European Union Member States.

Secure Digital Infrastructure for Cooperative Mobility

Under the agreement, Almaviva will deploy Eviden’s Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems Public Key Infrastructure across Italy to reinforce its transport and mobility services and integrate the technology into MOOVA, Almaviva’s modular digital platform designed to connect multiple transport modes within a unified ecosystem.

Eviden brings a certified cybersecurity solution already in use across Europe, along with extensive expertise in protecting transport communication environments. The partnership centers on establishing secure communication frameworks that ensure authentication, integrity, and confidentiality of data exchanged between vehicles, roadside infrastructure, and service providers.

Enabling Trusted V2X Communication at Scale

As C-ITS deployments expand, communication stations embedded in vehicles and infrastructure must exchange trusted information in real time. A robust Public Key Infrastructure is essential to create secure digital trust domains that allow these interactions to function reliably while maintaining interoperability with European standards.

Eviden’s C-ITS PKI will be delivered as a software-as-a-service component within the MOOVA platform, complemented by hosting, technical support, and ongoing maintenance. This model is intended to provide Italian public and private sector stakeholders with end-to-end operational support while leveraging the longstanding collaboration between the two companies.
