(IN BRIEF) Enea has partnered with French cybersecurity company Custocy to provide advanced network visibility and threat detection technology for the Haute-Garonne Departmental Council, protecting 25,000 assets across 1,500 subnets. This large-scale deployment, the first of its kind in France using AI-powered NDR, is part of a wider strategy to strengthen cybersecurity through an internal SOC. Custocy’s METALEARNER AI engine, combined with Enea’s Qosmos ixEngine and Threat Detection SDK, enables precise, real-time threat detection and early compromise identification. The project illustrates Europe’s ability to deliver innovative, high-performance cybersecurity solutions.

(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 9-Sep-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Enea’s advanced network visibility and threat detection software has been integrated into Custocy’s Network Detection and Response (NDR) solution, now deployed by the Haute-Garonne Departmental Council to safeguard more than 25,000 assets across its digital infrastructure. As the first French NDR deployment powered by artificial intelligence at such scale, this project highlights the strength of European innovation in cybersecurity.

The solution brings together two pioneering European companies: Custocy, a French specialist in AI-driven network intrusion detection, and Enea, a Swedish leader in telecom and cybersecurity software. Their collaboration demonstrates how Europe can deliver world-class, high-performance cybersecurity solutions tailored to its own markets.

The Haute-Garonne Departmental Council, recognizing the critical importance of protecting its information systems and digital services, sought to reinforce its cybersecurity posture with a solution sourced locally. The challenge was to secure a complex network encompassing 25,000 assets and 1,500 subnets. As part of a broader initiative that included the establishment of an internal Security Operations Centre (SOC), the NDR deployment became a cornerstone of the council’s efforts to achieve full visibility and rapid response against cyber threats.

Custocy was selected as a strategic partner for its ability to combine performance, visibility, and operational support. At the heart of its NDR solution lies METALEARNER, a proprietary AI engine designed to continuously analyze massive volumes of network flow data, detecting early signals of compromise that traditional security tools often miss. The platform also empowers security teams by mapping abnormal usage patterns, identifying risky behaviors, and providing direct support through a dedicated Customer Success Manager.

Didier Langolff, CIO of the Haute-Garonne Departmental Council, explained: “We chose Custocy for its innovative French technology that competes with the best international solutions while offering close collaboration with our teams. Their platform gives us complete network visibility, which is vital for safeguarding our information systems and ensuring continuity of our public services.”

Enea powers Custocy’s platform with its internationally recognized components, Qosmos ixEngine and Qosmos Threat Detection SDK (TD SDK). The ixEngine delivers deep visibility into network traffic by recognizing over 4,700 protocols and extracting nearly 5,900 metadata elements. By identifying the applications behind each IP session, it provides Custocy’s AI modules with precise real-time data. Combined with the advanced threat detection capabilities of Qosmos TD SDK, this creates a next-generation NDR system that offers unmatched detection and protection.

Thierry Bardy, President of the IMS Networks group, noted: “This deployment demonstrates the value of European collaboration in cybersecurity. With Enea and Custocy, we are proving that France and Europe can lead the way in combining AI, cybersecurity expertise, and industrial excellence to protect organizations while offering trusted, locally developed alternatives to global solutions.”
