Luc Bretones named Director of the Orange Technocentre

Luc Bretones, previously Vice President for SMEs at Orange Business Services, has been named Director of the Orange Technocentre. He reports to Vivek Badrinath, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the innovation, technology and customer experience resources.

11-7-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — The Technocentre, established in January 2006, is the Group’s”product and design factory”. At its helm, Luc Bretones oversees the marketing and development of the Group’s innovations for the benefit of Orange customers. Orange is focused on developing and delivering the right products and services at the right time, making these innovations accessible to as many customers as possible, in as many countries where the Group is present.

He also supervises the definition and implementation of the design strategy for all Group products and services, providing customers with a consistent experience across all interfaces. These products must be useful, easy-to-use, reliable and environmentally sound. They are developed in close cooperation by the Group’s research and innovation teams.

The Technocentre brings together marketing, development and implementation expertise to work on more than forty projects in a multicultural environment. More than 500 people work at the Technocentre in its four sites: Châtillon, France, London, Amman, Jordan and Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Beyond the Technocentre’s flagship products, such as Livebox Play, Orange TV, Orange Money and the Orange Cloud, close to 300 products are launched every year in 32 countries. The past few months have seen the launches of the new version of the Orange Cloud mobile application, the RCS/Joyn enriched communications service in France following its launch in Spain in late 2012, Orange Video on Demand for Xbox, new 4G compatible Business Everywhere connection kits, and over a dozen new products in the AMEA zone, including “No credit Beep.”

Luc joined the Group in January 1997 as a sales engineer for large accounts before taking positions as a strategy consultant in the Enterprise division and then the customer web channel manager for large accounts. He then took on numerous operational management roles: customer service director for the greater Paris area, intervention unit director for the West Paris region, indirect sales director for the Enterprise division, and his current role of Vice President for SMEs at Orange Business Services.

Luc is an expert in IT and online communities, and has won recognition as a business expert in new technologies. He has developed close ties to French start-ups, and contributed to the launch of the Start-up Weekend initiative in France. He also manages the think tank Renaissance Numérique, serves as Vice President of the Institute G9+, and is President of Transition Numérique+. Luc’s commitment to the Orange values is also expressed through his work as president of the Orange Solidarité volunteer association, which fights digital exclusion in France.

Luc, aged 39, graduated from ESSEC Business School and Centrale Marseille Engineering School.
