(PRESS RELEASE) LYNGBY, 27-Aug-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — COWI and Arkitema have been awarded first place in DSB’s tender for a four-year framework agreement covering total consultancy services, a collaboration that will focus on creating railway stations that are safe, efficient, and inviting for passengers across Denmark. The agreement, which runs from July 2025 to 2029 with the option to extend for up to eight years in total, will be a cornerstone of DSB’s ongoing station strategy to modernise infrastructure and elevate the passenger experience.

As Denmark’s main mobility provider, DSB is committed to ensuring that journeys are simple, safe, and reliable. The framework agreement will support this mission by upgrading and renovating stations to make them attractive, accessible, and well-integrated with their local communities.

“Stations are a vital part of the overall travel experience, and it is important that they are pleasant spaces for passengers,” said Lars Gøtke, Deputy Director of DSB Ejendomme. “That is why we are currently focused on developing and renovating stations based on a holistic understanding of passenger needs.”

COWI and Arkitema will bring their expertise in railways, construction, civil engineering, architecture, design, and human behaviour to projects ranging from renovations of existing facilities and protected buildings to entirely new construction. The aim is to combine technical quality with passenger-centred design to ensure lasting improvements.

Thomas Solgaard Sørensen, Senior Vice President of Building and Industry at COWI, commented: “We are excited to collaborate closely with DSB to deliver projects that combine buildability with high-quality design. Our shared ambition is to deliver improvements that have a lasting impact, ensuring passengers enjoy safe, welcoming, and efficient stations that enhance their overall journey.”

The agreement will play a key role in the long-term modernisation of DSB’s stations and infrastructure, ensuring continuity of operations while offering passengers a better travel experience.
