(PRESS RELEASE) STUTTGART/HOSENA, 28-Jul-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — ZÜBLIN Stahlbau GmbH is expanding its footprint in bridge construction through the acquisition of key assets from Hilgefort GmbH, effective August 1, 2025. As part of an asset deal, the company is acquiring substantial property and facilities in Dinklage, Lower Saxony, and securing the employment of all 70 Hilgefort staff, ensuring business continuity and growth at the site.

The acquisition includes approximately 40,000 square meters of land, three large-scale production halls, and significant movable fixed assets. With this strategic move, ZÜBLIN Stahlbau strengthens its capabilities in bridge construction while broadening its vertical integration. In addition, Hilgefort’s operations in plant component and apparatus construction will continue under the ZÜBLIN Stahlbau brand as part of its evolving product portfolio.

“This acquisition is a targeted expansion of our capacities and technical expertise in bridge construction—an essential area to support the urgently needed infrastructure development across Germany,” said Marco Eckert, Technical Managing Director of ZÜBLIN Stahlbau GmbH. “At the same time, Hilgefort’s long-standing knowledge in plant component and apparatus construction will be preserved and developed further within our organization.”

The skilled workforce from Hilgefort is a key asset in the transaction. Ulrich Hilgefort, current Managing Director of Hilgefort GmbH, welcomed the transition, stating: “I’m pleased that our team’s deep experience in metalwork and welding will now contribute to ZÜBLIN Stahlbau’s broader mission. The integration also opens up new opportunities and long-term prospects for our employees.” He will personally support the integration process to ensure a smooth transition.

With the Dinklage site integration, ZÜBLIN Stahlbau is not only expanding its production capacity but also reinforcing its strategic growth in steel bridge construction, plant construction, and structural steelwork—solidifying its role as one of the leading players in Germany’s steel construction sector.
