(PRESS RELEASE) COLOGNE, 4-Apr-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — LANXESS is set to showcase its extensive portfolio for the cosmetics and personal care industry at in-cosmetics Global in Amsterdam from April 8 to 10, where it will present innovative preservation solutions alongside its premium aroma chemicals and active ingredients. Located at booth 1B60 in Hall 1 at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Center, the company will highlight products that balance safety, performance, and sustainability for a wide range of applications.

Among the highlights is a focus on advanced preservation systems. LANXESS introduces its Neolone PH Max, a groundbreaking preservative blend that combines phenoxyethanol with a naturally derived multifunctional active ingredient. This formulation offers broad-spectrum protection against bacteria and fungi while ensuring consumer-friendly performance. Dr. Ziang Li, Head of Technology Development for the Hygiene and Care divisions at LANXESS, will host a technical seminar titled “Designing for Tomorrow: A Novel Multifunctional Blend for Personal Care” at Theatre 2 in Hall 13 (Elicium) at 9:40 a.m. on April 9, where he will delve into the benefits and design of this innovative product.

The company is also presenting its sustainable and highly effective Neolone BioG Preservative. Derived from natural raw materials like sugar beets and corn, this bio-based solution protects against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, as well as yeasts and molds. It is non-irritating and certified by COSMOS and NATRUE, making it ideal for formulations within a pH range of 3 to 6.

Adding to its green portfolio, LANXESS will display Purox S Scopeblue, an exceptionally sustainable version of sodium benzoate. Manufactured using green energy and renewable raw materials, this nature-identical preservative safely inhibits microbial growth in personal care products up to a pH of 6.5. The Scopeblue brand represents LANXESS’ commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of its products by at least 50 percent compared to conventional alternatives.

In addition to these preservation solutions, the company will also introduce its highly pure, nature-identical aroma chemicals that are essential in creating unique fragrances for perfumes and personal care products. These aroma chemicals are available in four distinct classes—floral, earthy, spicy, and fruity—and include sustainably produced benzyl alcohol, a versatile ingredient used as an aromatic coalescent, solvent, preservative, and fixative. All these products are manufactured in LANXESS’ production sites around the globe, which are ISCC PLUS certified, ensuring sustainable production practices and a significantly reduced carbon footprint.

Another key offering comes from LANXESS’ subsidiary, Saltigo. Specializing in custom manufacturing, Saltigo presents Saltidin—a proven active ingredient for insect repellent products that provides effective protection against insect and tick bites. With its colorless, odorless, and skin-friendly formulation, Saltidin is compatible with various product formats such as sprays, lotions, and emulsions. Dirk Sandri, Global Business Manager Saltidin, emphasizes that the excellent balance of efficacy, safety, and material compatibility makes Saltidin suitable for family use. Its unique molecular structure disrupts insect receptors, preventing mosquitoes and other pests from recognizing humans as a blood source. Saltidin is also endorsed by the World Health Organization as a preferred solution for preventing diseases like malaria, dengue, and Zika fever.

LANXESS continues to drive innovation in the cosmetics and personal care industry with its comprehensive solutions that combine cutting-edge technology, sustainability, and a deep understanding of consumer needs. The company’s offerings are designed to cater to both leave-on products like lotions, creams, and makeup, as well as rinse-off applications such as shampoos, shower gels, and conditioners. Through customized solutions and sustainable production practices, LANXESS is committed to helping its customers meet the evolving demands of safety, performance, and environmental responsibility.
