(PRESS RELEASE) THE HAGUE, 19-Nov-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — The Dutch Research Council (NWO) is dedicating €1.5 million to support science communication initiatives that aim to bridge the gap between science and society. The funding, offered through the latest round of the Dutch Research Agenda (NWA) science communication call, is open to professionals from knowledge institutions, museums, and other public research organizations.

Fostering Innovation in Science Communication

NWO seeks proposals that introduce novel approaches to science communication, with an emphasis on distinguishing projects from existing initiatives. Applicants must demonstrate how their ideas complement current offerings, highlight their unique contribution, and explain their added value in engaging the public with science.

Reaching Underserved Audiences

Projects are encouraged to target groups that typically have limited exposure to scientific research, particularly adults and young adults. Unlike many current efforts that focus on children, this call seeks to expand science communication to new demographics.
