Arkema Earns ISCC PLUS Certification for Changshu Site, Expanding Sustainable Resin Production in Asia

This certification supports the company’s ability to offer a new range of bio-attributed waterborne acrylic resins and additives in Asia. The mass balance approach used in the production process allows for the gradual replacement of virgin fossil feedstocks with renewable-based sources, contributing to a reduced carbon footprint and promoting circularity. These sustainable products will be especially beneficial in fast-growing sectors such as new energy, e-mobility, building efficiency, and living comfort.

The certification at the Changshu site complements Arkema’s existing bio-based resins and additives portfolio, which already includes solutions with up to 100% bio-based content. It also builds upon previous ISCC PLUS certifications at Arkema’s facilities in the US, Europe, and other sites in China, such as Nansha and Taixing. This expansion aligns with Arkema’s broader strategy to accelerate the transition to sustainable solutions across various coating technologies, including high solids, waterborne, and UV/LED/EB systems.
