Hannover Finanz Acquires Saint-Gobain’s Automotive Plastics Division, Freeglass

(IN BRIEF) Hannover Finanz, through its division HF Opportunities GmbH, has acquired Freeglass GmbH & Co. KG, a manufacturer of automotive plastic components, from Saint-Gobain. Freeglass, based in Schwaikheim, Germany, generated nearly €20 million in sales in 2023. The acquisition is part of Hannover Finanz’s strategy to expand in the automotive sector, while Saint-Gobain continues to optimize its business portfolio under its “Grow & Impact” strategic plan.

(PRESS RELEASE) COURBEVOIE, 3-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Hannover Finanz, through its division HF Opportunities GmbH, has acquired Freeglass GmbH & Co. KG, a leading manufacturer of exterior plastic components for the automotive industry, from Saint-Gobain. The Freeglass plant, located in Schwaikheim, Germany, has been a key player in the development and production of plastic polymer components since 1998, employing around 120 people and generating nearly €20 million in sales in 2023.

This acquisition aligns with Hannover Finanz’s strategy to expand its portfolio in the automotive sector, leveraging Freeglass’s established expertise in polymer component manufacturing. For Saint-Gobain, the sale marks a continuation of its “Grow & Impact” strategic plan, which focuses on optimizing its business portfolio to drive growth in its core areas.

The transition is expected to bring new opportunities for Freeglass under the ownership of Hannover Finanz, which aims to further develop the company’s capabilities and market reach within the automotive industry.
