ANDRITZ Secures Major Order to Enhance Pulp Production for Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper TBK

(IN BRIEF) International technology group ANDRITZ has secured a significant order from Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper TBK to supply a complete old corrugated containers (OCC) line, including a reject treatment system, to the mill in Karawang, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. The new OCC line, with a design capacity of 2,000 bdmt/d, will utilize the latest technology to process a mixture of OCC, mixed waste, and American OCC to produce testliner, ensuring high pulp quality with cost-efficient and resource-saving operation. Scheduled for startup by the end of 2024, this collaboration between Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper TBK and ANDRITZ is poised to drive the company’s production to new heights, supporting its stable and sustainable growth trajectory in the pulp and paper industry.

(PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 17-May-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — International technology group ANDRITZ has received an order from lndah Kiat Pulp & Paper TBK to supply a complete old corrugated containers (OCC) line including a reject treatment system to the mill in Karawang, Jawa Barat, Indonesia.

The new OCC line will have a design capacity of 2,000 bdmt/d and process a mixture of OCC, mixed waste and up to 30% American OCC as raw material to produce testliner. Based on the latest technology available, it will provide high pulp quality at cost-efficient and resource-saving operation. The collaboration between lndah Kiat Pulp & Paper TBK and ANDRITZ will support Indah Kiat’s stable and sustainable growth, driving the company’s production to new heights. Start-up of the new line is scheduled for the end of 2024.

ANDRITZ’s scope of supply comprises

  • the complete drum pulping system with a FibreFlow drum pulper for highly efficient fiber slushing and separation of coarse contaminants at reduced energy consumption,
  • the cleaning, fractionation and screening stage including PrimeScreen X screens with newly developed PrimeRotor for high screening efficiency at low power consumption,
  • a state-of-the-art reject treatment system featuring Reject Compactors ReCo for optimal dewatering of rejects and a durable ADuro P single-shaft shredder with an innovative cutting system to ensure a homogenous high-quality output,
  • erection supervision, commissioning, start-up and training.
