WOLFSBURG, 12-Apr-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — Volkswagen is expanding its range of Touran engines with two new powerful engine variants. The 132 kW / 180 PS TSI version and the 140 kW / 190 PS TDI have their focus on efficiency and driving pleasure. In addition, the interior of the Touran can be upgraded with the new extensive “Milano” design package.

With two new top-of-the-range engine options, the Touran gets a significantly more sporting character. The 1.8 l TSI with 132 kW (180 PS)1 has a top speed of 218 km/h and the maximum torque of 250 Nm is achieved between 1250 and 5000 rpm. The 1.8 TSI comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and costs €34,250 including Highline specification.

The new two-litre TDI also offers a significant increase in dynamic performance: its 140 kW (190 PS)2 four-cylinder engine reaches a top speed of 220 km/h, and consumes just 4.6 litres per 100 kilometres. The powerful TDI is available to order in the Highline specification with 6-speed DSG starting at €37,150.

Volkswagen has a new product in its range for the popular family van, which was recently declared by Euro NCAP as one of the safest cars in Europe: the “Milano” design package gives the Touran a trace of Italian elegance with ambient lighting, roofliner in titanium black and “piano black” inlays for the centre console, the instrument panel and in the door panels. The centre seat panels come in volcano-brown “ArtVelours” micro fleece and harmoniously match both the inner “Nappa” leather seat bolsters and the leather-trimmed multifunction steering wheel. Heated front seats provide extra comfort. The “Milano” design package is now available to order for the Comfortline and Highline specifications at a package price of €1,675.
