MILAN, 20-10-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — UniCredit will be the only Italian bank present on 19 November at the virtual opening ceremony of  the first “Global StartUp Expo”, a digital start up fair. Thanks to an internet platform developed by the Italian startup Hyperfair – which has offices also in San Francisco -investors and companies from all around the world will be able to meet, at UniCredit’s digital pavilion, 60 new companies that make Made in Italy innovation their core business.

“In a context of ongoing globalization, digital platforms are becoming a powerful business tool, and for this reason we have decided to build our own digital pavilion to present the startups that we believe have the most growth potential,” said Gabriele Piccini, Country Chairman of UniCredit for Italy. ” Global StartUp Expo represents an opportunity to showcase young Italian innovators to incubators, stakeholders, venture capitalists  as well as corporate and private clients.  For this reason UniCredit, through UniCredit Start Lab, has decided to be the privileged partner of this initiative that will  further accelerate  the project to internationalize new companies.

The bank will present 60 virtual stands in its digital pavilion, for each of the 60 innovative startups identified via a selection process organized by the bank itself”.

UniCredit supports the initiative through UniCredit Start Lab, its acceleration program dedicated to innovative startups. The aim is to offer them a direct channel for contact with potential visitors from the United States and from European countries where the group is present, such as Bulgaria, Poland and Turkey, in addition to Italy. Those innovative start-ups are active in all fields of the Made in Italy business world, and include such areas as  Life Sciences and Clean Tech.

Visitors to the “Global StartUp Expo” can organise video calls or chats with the most interesting startups for their business and transform a virtual meeting into reality. Startuppers can meet with major global investors and incubators at specific times (depending on the time zone), without having to physically leave their offices, allowing them to enter into a global innovation ecosystem.  Business cards, brochures, catalogues and presentations will be available at the virtual stands dedicated to each startup.

The Global StartUp Expo by UniCredit will provide an opportunity for many new companies to achieve visibility and growth in a completely new and certainly more efficient way.

Participants to the digital fair who are invited to meet with startups include companies open to innovative solutions represented by R&D managers, Chief Operation Officers, Chief Financial Officers, business development managers and all other managers involved, along with individuals and visitors acting as investors, business angels, incubators, venture capitalists, stakeholders and innovation enthusiasts.
