Trinity College Dublin’s Arts and Humanities ranked 74th in the world in Times Higher Education Subject Ranking 2015-2016: Arts and humanities top 100

DUBLIN, 28-10-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — Trinity  College Dublin’s Arts and Humanities has been  ranked at 74th in the world in the just published  Times Higher Education (THE) Subject Ranking 2015-2016: Arts and humanities top 100:

The THE Subject Rankings in Arts and Humanities compares the performance of universities in this subject area under the headings of Teaching, Research, International Outlook, Citations and Industry Income.

Trinity ranks in the top 40 universities in Europe in the THE Subject Ranking in Arts and Humanities and 1st in Ireland.

In Arts and Humanities, Trinity is ranked at 17th in the world and 10th in Europe in terms of International Outlook.

Welcoming the announcement the Dean of Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Darryl Jones said: “This splendid news confirms Trinity’s long-held place as a major international centre of excellence for the study of the Arts and Humanities.”

Congratulating   the faculty, the Dean of Research, Professor John Boland said: “To gain a place in the top 100 in this ranking is a significant achievement for Trinity’s teaching and research in Arts and Humanities, especially given the intense international competition from so many larger and better-funded universities worldwide. This latest news reinforces the message of Trinity’s Arts and Humanities impressive performance and reputation, already shown earlier this year in its placement at 61st in the world in the QS Faculty Rankings 2015.”
