Thomas Thune Andersen to be elected new Chairman of DONG Energy Board of Directors on 17 July 2014

Thomas Thune Andersen will be elected new Chairman of the Board of Directors of DONG Energy A/S.

Fredericia, Denmark, 17-3-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — Thomas Thune Andersen has many years of experience from the energy sector and has seats on the boards of a number of international companies dealing in energy, logistics and distribution. He is i.a. Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lloyd’s Register Group, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of VKR Holding A/S and member of the Board of Directors of Scottish & Southern Energy (SSE), which is a leading energy company producing and distributing electricity and natural gas to customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

As SSE and DONG Energy have a partnership within wind energy Thomas Thune Andersen must resign from the Board of Directors of SSE, before he can be elected Chairman of DONG Energy. This takes place at the general meeting at SSE on 17 July 2014, after which Thomas Thune Andersen at the earliest possible
date will be elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of DONG Energy A/S on an extraordinary general meeting.

With Thomas Thune Andersen not assuming the position until an extraordinary general meeting, the Nomination Committee of DONG Energy A/S has recommended that Benny D. Loft be elected Chairman at the annual general meeting held on 12 March 2014 in order to manage the chairmanship in the interim. The Nomination Committee has simultaneously recommended that Jørn Peter Jensen be elected new Deputy Chairman of DONG Energy A/S.
