STUTTGART, 08-Aug-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — Premiere with drums and four grand pianos: in September 2016, for the first time, the Stuttgart Music Festival of the renowned International Bach Academy will see two concerts taking place in the Mercedes-Benz Museum. On 3 September, percussionist Murat Coşkun will be making a guest appearance with a family concert entitled “Stories from 1000 and one rhythms”. On 8 September the Gershwin Piano Quartet will be on stage with four Steinway grand pianos as part of the series “Unternehmen Musik” (roughly speaking: “Business Music”). This concert also brings a reminder of a little-known chapter of Mercedes-Benz brand history: the foundation of the Daimler Motor Company in 1888 by the North American piano manufacturer Steinway. Tickets for the concerts are available online atwww.musikfest.de, by telephone on +49 (0) 711-619 21 61 and from all usual advance booking offices.

The composer and musician Johann Sebastian Bach and the automotive pioneer Gottlieb Daimler each set new standards in their respective callings. The International Bach Academy’s Stuttgart Music Festival this year will for the first time see a collaboration between a classical music festival and the Mercedes-Benz Museum. Once again, the Mercedes-Benz Museum is underlining its tremendous scope as a venue for artistic and cultural activities.
