Scania has sold an additional 200 luxury coaches in Taiwan. Deliveries to the Boshen bus bodybuilder will start in January 2015. This deal further strengthens Scania’s top position in the Taiwanese coach market.

“This year, 2014, marks a record since Scania entered the Taiwanese bus and coach market in 1982,” says Managing Director Per Lilljequist, Scania Taiwan.

“During 2014, Scania Taiwan has received more than 600 bus orders, of which 300 units are already in operation.”

Cooperation between Scania and Boshen started in 2000 and the bus bodybuilder has now selected Scania as its only European long-term partner. “To fulfil our growth plan, we’ve opted for the Scania K 400 chassis thanks to the excellent product performance, brand image and Scania’s service back-up,” says Lin Jin-Liu, Chairman of Boshen. “We believe it’s a win-win deal for both of us.”

The coaches, with 400 hp Euro 5 engines, normally seat 45 passengers. Scania’s Euro 5 coaches were introduced in Taiwan in 2013 and have since become the best-selling buses in the high-end coach and intercity market in Taiwan. Nearly 500 coaches have put on roads over the past 18 months.
