Penguin Random House’s publishers half of all 2013 National Book Awards finalists

New York, United States, 21-10-2013 — /EuropaWire/ — After its success with the Nobel Prize in Literature and Man Booker Prize, the Penguin Random House publishing group has good chances of winning another major literary prize. Its publishers have ten nominations competing in the finals of the 2013 National Book Awards with – fully half of all nominations for this important U.S. book award.

Two of this year’s winners have already been determined: E. L. Doctorow will be honored with the 2013 Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters for his contribution to American literature, and Maya Angelou is the winner of the 2013 Literarian Award for Outstanding Service to the American Literary Community. Both Doctorow and Angelou have always published their books with Random House publishers. The NBA2013 will be presented on Nov 20 at an awards gala in Manhattan.
