Industrie De Nora US subsidiary De Nora Tech participated at 2013 Annual Chlorine Institute meeting in Houston, TX

Milan, Italy, 18-6-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — De Nora Tech, a wholly owned subsidiary of Industrie De Nora located in Concord (Ohio), participated at the 2013 Annual Chlorine Institute meeting in Houston (TX).

The event brought together producers, packagers, distributors and users involved in the safe production, distribution and use of chlorine in the United States, Canada and Mexico.  A significant event was  the Technical Symposium.  In  28 sessions, technology suppliers and professionals of the chlor-alkali industry shared continuous advancements for a safer chlor-alkali technology.

“The loss of anolyte level in a diaphragm cell, or high hydrogen in wet chlorine gas in any chlor-alkali cell room, can lead to catastrophic safety issues, resulting in damaged equipment and possible personnel risk.” stated Chuck Schultz, Sales & Technical Manager of De Nora Tech, introducing the latest development in Remote Monitoring Systems for Cell Operations technology.

A unique solution available in different technology packages, that can be easily retrofitted to existing cell room hardware, has been developed by De Nora and its partners remotely monitor plant operations before there is a safety risk for the plant.

Important updates on the Pamphlet 139, a guideline on electrical safety for operators in chlor-alkali cell facilities, were introduced by Ed Kazimir, Technical Assistance Manager at De Nora Tech . “With those guidance, based upon industry best practices,  – said Ed Kazimir –we try to reach higher standards in electrical safety than the requirements defined by each national legislation in order to guarantee safety for all persons that could enter a cell facility, including operational personnel, maintenance personnel and visitors”

De Nora Tech has been an active supporter of the Chlorine Institute over several decades and its core mission to “support the chlor-alkali industry and serve the public by fostering continuous improvements to safety and the protection of human health and the environment connected with the production, distribution and use of chlorine, sodium and potassium hydroxides, and sodium hypochlorite; and the distribution and use of hydrogen chloride.”  As part of this role, De Nora Tech serves on several active task groups with producers and others and provides technical resources as needed.
