Henrietta Jowitt appointed Managing Director Commercial at Confederation of British Industry

The CBI has today announced the appointment of Henrietta Jowitt as its Managing Director, Commercial.

LONDON, 18-12-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — With an extensive background in business strategy, marketing, growth and change management, Henrietta will join the CBI early next year. She will be responsible for developing the group’s membership proposition, leading the CBI’s regional teams across the country, and creating new member services with a focus on supporting and enabling businesses to grow.

Henrietta has held a number of senior marketing roles at a number of international blue-chip firms, spanning a variety of sectors from food, retail, professional and financial services, including at Schroders, Advent International, United Biscuits and Nestle.  She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Commenting on her appointment, Henrietta said:

Henrietta read Natural Sciences at Oxford University where she specialised in animal behaviour and physiology. She began her career at Heinz as a graduate trainee, before going on to hold a variety of marketing and strategy roles in the consumer goods industry at Nestle and United Biscuits, working both in the UK market and internationally.  Henrietta then moved on to the Board at retailer Grattan as Sales and Marketing Director, before joining the professional services firm Cushman & Wakefield as a Partner and Marketing Director for EMEA.

In 2004, she became Group Head of Marketing and Investor Relations at the asset management firm Schroders, followed in 2008 by Group Head of Marketing at the private equity firm Advent International.  She also runs her own business strategy consultancy, Rotation Point.

Henrietta lives in Yorkshire and London and is married with 4 children.

She will form part of the CBI’s new senior management team, reporting directly to Director-General Carolyn Fairbairn. The CBI recently announced the appointment of Josh Hardie into the newly created role of Managing Director, Policy and Campaigns. Josh will join the CBI early in 2015 from Tesco where he has been Group Director for Corporate Responsibility.
