GTT to equip two new LNG carriers for Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME)

PARIS, 26-Oct-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — GTT has received an order from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) to equip two new LNG carriers. The vessels will be built at DSME’s shipyard in Geoje, Korea, on behalf of Maran Gas Maritime, a Greek management company. They will be equipped with GTT’s NO96 cryogenic membrane containment system. Delivery is scheduled for 2019.

« This order reinforces our long-standing relationship with DSME who has already received 147 ship orders with the NO96 technology », declared Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GTT. « With a fleet of 20 vessels, entirely equipped with membrane solutions, Maran Gas Maritime is a major player of the maritime industry. This new contract reflects the level of confidence between Maran Gas Maritime, the Korean shipbuilding industry and GTT ».

With 143 vessels equipped in the world, and 59 on order, the NO96 range is sea proven and acknowledged by the major players of the maritime industry. Since the launch of this technology in 1996, GTT has constantly developed the NO96 solution, on the basis of significant feedback from operational experience at sea. These evolutions allow, among other things, to match the requirements of the latest propulsion systems.
