Fokker and ACLAS Global Ltd enter into exchange, repair and maintenance agreement covering ATR leading edges

Redditch, UK, 06-Oct-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — Singapore GKN Aerospace’s business unit Fokker and ACLAS Global Ltd have entered into an exchange, repair and maintenance agreement covering ATR leading edges.

This agreement will enable ACLAS Global and Fokker Services Asia to provide exchange and repair capability for leading edges in the Asia Pacific region, resulting in reduced costs and competitive turn-around times. Both companies may now contemplate enlarging the scope of this agreement to other structural components such as ailerons, elevators, main landing gear doors, cargo and service doors.

Under this agreement, ACLAS Global, a worldwide supplier of ATR component solutions, will provide leading edges from its extensive exchange pool based at its Singapore Changi Airport distribution hub. ACLAS have specifically invested in inventory for this Asia Pacific region project. Fokker Services Asia, as local repair station, will provide repair and overhaul services for leading edges from its facility located at Singapore Seletar Airport.

Fokker Services Asia obtained EASA approval on ATR 42/72 series aircraft in 2001, and have carried out heavy maintenance on many aircraft in their facilities at Seletar airport in Singapore, as well as providing on-site support for repairs within the region.

Mr. Gordon Bilbey, Chief Commercial Officer of ACLAS Global stated: “This agreement reaffirms ACLAS Global’s commitment to provide local component solutions in region. Having worked with Fokker Services for a number of years we are pleased to take the first steps in formalising our partnership together as we seek to offer the highest level of leading edge component support to our customers in the Asia Pacific region.”

Mr. Nick White, Managing Director of Fokker Services Asia, declared: ‘’Our focus remains on meeting customer needs in our region, this partnership with ACLAS is but one step towards building a world class service offering for our ATR customers.’’
