ECE subsidiary Auxideico awarded the management contract for Marineda City Shopping Center in La Coruña, North West Spain

Spanish subsidiary of ECE, Auxideico, takes over management of Marineda City

GALICIA, Spain, 5-9-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — The Spanish subsidiary of ECE, Auxideico, which is one of the leading shopping center operators in Spain, was awarded the management contract for Marineda City Shopping Center in La Coruña, North West Spain. The center was only recently acquired by Merlin Properties.

Marineda City is one of the largest shopping centers in Spain. It comprises a rental area of 176,000 m², 190 shops and 6,500 parking spaces. International brands in the center include fashion labels such as Inditex, H&M, Primark, C&A, Grupo Cortefiel, or Benetton. Further popular brands are Bricor, Conforama, Decathlon, Media Markt, San Luis, or Worten. The shopping center provides leisure activities such as 12 cinema halls, which are managed by the cinema operator Cinesa, as well as a large variety of restaurants. Popular brands such as El Corte Inglés and IKEA can also be found on site.

The shopping center is located at Marineda City, which is the largest shopping property in Spain and the third-largest in Europe. Marineda City comprises an overall sales area of 500,000 m², a business center with 15,000 m² as well as the 4-star hotel Carrís. Situated in a catchment area of 2.8 million inhabitants, Marineda City is not only one of the most important shopping and leisure areas in La Coruña but also in North West Spain.

Auxideico Gestión S.A. has been an independent ECE subsidiary since 2010 and is based in Madrid. The company was founded in 1994 and currently manages 16 centers, and has therefore one of the largest management portfolios in the Iberian Peninsula. Its core competencies comprise center management, facility management, leasing and contract management, consulting services and the refurbishment of centers.
