Documentary channel OTE HISTORY airs on OTE TV on Friday, January 22

Paiania, Greece, 22-Jan-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — OTE HISTORY, the only documentary channel on Greek TV, focusing on Greece’s history and culture, is airing on OTE TV on Friday, January 22.

With Greece as a point of reference, OTE HISTORY covers a wide range of topics: history and mythology from antiquity up to the present, arts and culture, science and important human achievements, places in Greece and their traditions, the country’s habits and customs, the great personalities of yesterday and today.

With a 24-hour programme, the channel includes:

·         Foreign documentaries about Greece by international networks and channels, such as the BBC, the National Geographic, the Discovery Channel, etc.

·         Documentaries of Greek production by cultural institutions and other organizations, independent producers, Greeks creators, etc

·         Shows produced by ΟΤΕ TV.

The first original show of OTE HISTORY is “Greece from A to Z“, which launches the programme  of the channel (January 22, 21.00). It is a series of cultural documentaries that travels to different places all over Greece through the eyes of important Greek people who are linked to these sites and will guide us there, attempting a historical, cultural, social and scientific journey. The first stop is Thessaloniki, with more destinations to follow, like Florina, Volos, Tinos, Pelion, Crete, Piraeus, Ioannina and Athens.

The OTE TV productions for OTE HISTORY will be complemented in the future with other shows on issues taken not only from the rich Greek history and culture, but also from the cultural activities of today.

The OTE HISTORY programme will continue to be enriched with new and interesting content in cooperation with third parties.
