DHL Parcel introduces DHL Parcel Prio service offering next business day delivery with money-back guarantee

Eventually DHL Parcel plans to offer the new service to shippers throughout Germany. The only requirement for taking advantage of the Prio service is a minimum shipping volume of 50 Prio items per day.

BONN, 04-Apr-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — Effective immediately DHL Parcel is expanding service for business customers in Germany to include its new DHL Parcel Prio service. Parcel Prio promises delivery of domestic parcel shipments on the next business day after posting – now for the first time with a money-back guarantee. In the event of any transit time delays, DHL will reimburse merchant shipping costs either in part or in full.

“This is the logical next step for us as we work to align DHL Parcel’s service more and more with the needs of our customers,” says Achim Dünnwald, CEO DHL Parcel Germany and Europe. “After offering this kind of Prio service for large shippers only – and having established it in our nationwide network together with Amazon Prime – we are now offering all online merchants a chance to benefit from the enhanced service.”

For starters, DHL Parcel Prio will be available to all business customers in the regions Leipzig, Würzburg and Nürnberg. Eventually DHL Parcel plans to offer the new service to shippers throughout Germany. The only requirement for taking advantage of the Prio service is a minimum shipping volume of 50 Prio items per day. In order to make this transit-time guarantee available to a significantly larger number of customers, DHL Parcel has improved existing processes so that smaller and medium-sized shippers can also benefit from attractive pricing – depending on the individual shipment volume and parcel center of posting.

As part of a recent DHL study*, 85% of consumers surveyed indicated that reliable delivery is particularly important to them, while 66% of customers emphasize the importance of fast delivery times. Both factors are, more and more, a measure of customer satisfaction levels among online shoppers and a criteria for shoppers when choosing an online merchant.

“Speed of delivery and reliability are important overall trends in ecommerce,” says Dünnwald. “With DHL Parcel Prio in combination with our time-slot delivery, customers now have much more opportunity to benefit from flexible parcel delivery times combined with guaranteed transit times – and all for a reasonable price.
