Destatis: the index of import prices decreased by 1.2% in October 2014 YoY

WIESBADEN, Germany, 27-11-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the index of import prices decreased by 1.2% in October 2014 compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year. In September 2014 and in August 2014 the annual rates of change were –1.6% and –1.9%, respectively. From September 2014 to October 2014 the index fell by 0.3%.

The index of import prices, excluding crude oil and mineral oil products, did not change, compared with the level of a year earlier.

The index of export prices increased by 0.3% in October 2014 compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year. In September 2014 and in August 2014 the annual rates of change were +0.1% and –0.1%, respectively. From September 2014 to October 2014 the index fell by 0.1%.
