Stuttgart, Germany, 6-2-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — The successful financial year 2013 is paying off for Daimler employees: The Board of Management and the General Works Council have decided to pay eligible employees a special bonus of 500 euros in addition to the profit sharing payment of 2,541 euros. “The special efforts put forth by our employees in 2013 and the exceptional performance they delivered played a crucial role in enabling us to turn a difficult start in the first quarter into a successful year. We want to thank our employees with a special bonus in addition to the profit sharing payment“, said Wilfried Porth, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG for Human Resources and Mercedes-Benz Vans, and Director of Labor Relations. The profit sharing payment and special bonus will be paid with the April wages and salaries and will go to more than 130,000 eligible wage-tariff employees.

Erich Klemm, Chairman of the General Works Council of Daimler AG, added: “We are delighted that we were able to come to an agreement with the company to not only give the employees a share of the generated profits, but to also reward their extraordinary efforts. The workforce has demonstrated special commitment in 2013 – and for this the employees deserve special thanks and recognition.”

The profit sharing at Daimler is regulated in an agreement, which was concluded jointly by the company’s management and employee representatives last year. The methodology takes the profits and the return on sales of the vehicle business into account. The special bonus is an independent extraordinary additional benefit.
