Berwin Leighton Paisner advises Valad Europe on the disposal of the High Return Portfolio to M7 Real Estate

LONDON, 26-Jan-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — International law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner has advised Valad Europe on the disposal of the High Return Portfolio to M7 Real Estate. The portfolio comprises ten properties in Germany with a rental area totalling 103,000 sqm. The transaction volume is approximately €63.5m.

The portfolio includes two properties mainly used as office buildings in Düsseldorf with a rental area of approximately 38,000sqm. The other eight are light industrial properties in Lohfelden, Ottobrunn, Barbing, Regensburg and Langenfeld near Düsseldorf. The eight properties have a total rental area of 64,000 sqm.

“The portfolio is part of a larger asset management mandate on which we were instructed in 2013,” said Danilo Hunker, Head of Germany at Valad, “we introduced it to the market in the second quarter of 2016. That was the ideal time to sell the properties and realise the goals we agreed upon when we took over the mandate. We are very satisfied with the result.”

Valad Europe is part of Cromwell Property Group, the listed Australian Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) with €6.9bn of funds under management across Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Its European network of local offices manages a total value of €3.7bn of real estate investment capacity across its funds and mandates.

BLP’s Berlin team regularly advises Valad and funds managed by Valad on their real estate transactions, financings and the ongoing asset management.
