Alstom introduced new solutions and optimised technologies to help implement the energy turnaround

20-6-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — At the 13th Technical Press Colloquium (TPC), conducted in Kiel at the end of May, Alstom presented the solutions it will use to help implement the energy turnaround. Toughening existing power plants will play a role here, as will efficiency-optimised technologies for new gas and coal power plants, in addition to wind turbines with a high capacity factor or, for example, modern techniques for grid management and power transportation. As a global player, the company offers technologies for many markets. This includes safeguarding the basic power generation in industrialised countries whose economies are growing as well as systems for generating power from renewable energies. What all technologies have in common is the need to offer the best solution with regard to three goals: climate protection, supply security and efficiency. In addition to CO2 savings and flexibility, the issue of cost-effectiveness is equally important. In their discussions with trade journalists from Germany and Austria, the Alstom employees who gave presentations showed how important it is to find the right balance between regenerative and traditional energy sources, climate protection and costs.
