Real estate industry veteran Mark Grinis succeeds Howard Roth as EY Global Real Estate, Hospitality & Construction Leader

NEW YORK, U.S.A., 15-Jun-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — EY is pleased to announce that 30-year real estate industry veteran Mark Grinis has been named the EY Global Real Estate, Hospitality & Construction Leader.

Grinis previously led Real Estate for Ernst & Young LLP in the US Central region and ran the organization’s Global Real Estate Private Equity practice. In his new role, he will coordinate a network of 15,000 real estate professionals from EY member firms around the world, serving more than 6,000 clients. Grinis replaces Howard Roth, who is retiring on 30 June 2017.

Roth says: “Mark is a highly skilled and respected professional in our industry. I have worked closely with him for many years. His knowledge, experience and credibility is based on major international transactions and capital flows, and he has the creativity to work with companies on their digital, cyber and technology priorities, making him an ideal fit to lead EY Global Real Estate, Hospitality & Construction.”

Grinis has served as lead advisor on more than US$50 billion of transactions and lead audit partner for real estate funds with an aggregate value of US$250 billion. Throughout his career, he has held Global, Americas and Asia leadership positions from the US and Japan.

Grinis says: “The pace of technological growth, shifting regulatory environments and constant changes in the global economy make for an exciting and challenging time to be in real estate. I’m honored to have this opportunity and look forward to leveraging our global network’s deep technical experience and talent for the benefit of our clients.”

Grinis is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New York and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Accounting from Claremont McKenna College.
