Alicia O’Grady appointed a new Director of External Relations at The University of Bristol

BRISTOL, 05-May-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — The University of Bristol has appointed a new Director of External Relations to support the delivery of its new strategy.

Alicia O’Grady, who has a wealth of experience in the Higher Education sector, will be responsible for enhancing and consolidating the University’s profile with key audiences in the UK and overseas, including prospective students, staff and partners.

The newly-created post comes as the University implements its ambitious new strategy, which outlines its aspirations for the next seven years.

As Director of External Relations, Alicia will oversee all student recruitment and admissions activity, corporate marketing, brand management, public relations, government relations and all aspects of internationalisation.

She brings over 20 years of experience to the role, most recently as Executive Director, Marketing and Communications at the University of Tasmania, where the Marketing and Communications functions were brought together under her leadership to ensure effective global delivery of marketing and brand strategies. While at the University, Alicia led brand and digital transformation strategies which received national and international accolades.

Prior to that she was Deputy Director of the Office of Student Recruitment at Griffith University in South East Queensland, Australia, and also worked extensively in the financial sector.
