Mortsel, Belgium/Greenville, SC, 15-8-2013 — /EuropaWire/ — IMPAX CV12 provides extended functionality for cardiologists along with a modular design for fast access to new features as they become available – Integration with existing Agfa HealthCare IMPAX PACS for radiology and IMPAX HeartStation ECG Management streamlines clinical access as well as product support – Enhanced platform supports Microsoft Windows™ 2008, Oracle 11g and virtualization for seamless product rollout, upgrades and study storage

Agfa HealthCare announces today that the first installation in North America of IMPAX CV12 has begun at Southern Regional Medical Center (SRMC), Riverdale, Georgia. The 330-bed facility located just outside Atlanta, which also installed Agfa HealthCare’s IMPAX HeartStation ECG management system, will benefit from enhanced product functionality, better serviceability and operational flexibility, and a fully integrated Cardiovascular Information System – Picture Archiving and Communication System (CVIS-PACS) solution.

Improved access to technology
Agfa HealthCare’s IMPAX CV12 is built on an advanced platform that enables healthcare facilities to benefit from Oracle 11g and Microsoft Windows Server 2008r2 which facilitates remote roll-out and easier upgrades, saving SRMC time and valuable resources. IMPAX CV12 can also be virtualized, reducing the hardware footprint for lower costs, greater operational flexibility, and improved application availability.

Integrated cardiology and radiology further streamlines results
The integration of IMPAX CV12 with IMPAX HeartStation ECG management system and the existing Agfa HealthCare IMPAX PACS will provide enhanced integrated clinical access, while streamlining service and support. With single vendor communication and support, SRMC can look forward to streamlined data management services, system tools monitoring, and universal viewing tools, all while reducing total cost of ownership.

“The selection of Agfa HealthCare’s IMPAX CV12 by Southern Regional Medical Center is not only a testament to the strength and innovation of the product, but also to the added value when cardiology and radiology information systems are combined with one single vendor,” said Charles Wickens, Global General Manager, Cardiovascular IT, Agfa HealthCare. “From day one of go-live and into the future we expect Southern Regional Medical Center to continue to benefit from the advanced functionality, modular design, and integrated systems from Agfa HealthCare.”
