50 VDL SB-4000 chassis ordered by Taavura Group’s Tashtit in Israel

Valkenswaard, the Netherlands, 12-May-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — Tashtit is currently taking delivery of a follow-up order of 50 VDL SB-4000 chassis. These chassis are destined for use as regional buses in the municipality of Jerusalem. 2 city buses and 1 regional bus based on the VDL Bus & Coach SB-4000 chassis were put in service at various transport companies in Israel for a one-year period. The trial period was completed successfully, with this follow-up order for 50 SB-4000 chassis as a result.

The SB-4000 chassis are fitted with an FPT Euro 6 engine and ZF automatic gearbox. Local bodybuilder Merkavim completes the buses with a Mars regional bus body, thus contributing to local employment. Merkavim is Israel’s largest bus body manufacturer and develops, designs and manufactures advanced models for all market segments.
