2017 Theodore Roosevelt Award presented to EY’s Beth Brooke-Marciniak at the NCAA Honors Celebration

LONDON, 27-Jan-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) presented Beth Brooke-Marciniak, EY Global Vice Chair of Public Policy, with its highest honor, the 2017 Theodore Roosevelt Award, for her tireless commitment championing diversity and inclusion. Beth accepted the award during the NCAA Honors Celebration in Nashville, Tennessee, on 27 January 2017, where she addressed a room of more than 850 attendees.

The Theodore Roosevelt Award is presented annually to one former student-athlete who graduated and went on to become a distinguished citizen of national reputation based on outstanding life accomplishment.

Beth is the 48th recipient of the award and joins a distinctive list of honorees, including four former US presidents, Madeleine Albright and Sally Ride, among others. A former member of Purdue University’s women’s basketball team, Beth was among the first class of female athletes to receive an athletic scholarship from the institution. She is the seventh woman to win the Theodore Roosevelt Award, and the first women’s basketball player to be honored.
